Transfiguration Sunday

by Clarissa Martinelli on February 27, 2022

Good morning people of God,

Lighting a candle for a particular purpose or intention is practiced worldwide by people of all walks of life, varied spiritual leanings, and a diverse array of religions.
Lighting a candle symbolizes bringing light to our wishes or desires. A candle can be lit as a prayer for peace or a request for healing. People of Christian faith believe
that lighting a candle symbolizes the light of Christ.

Come as we conclude this "Candle" sermon series – but continuously trimming the candle wicks as we go light the world with the Light of Christ!

This last Sunday of Black History Month, we, with passionate intentionality, invite the Holy Spirit into this praise service, as we witness the Transfiguration of Jesus –
“Jesus was changing before their eyes, beginning with His face. It seemed to glow. The glow spread, and even His clothing took on a blinding whiteness.” T

The hymns and songs we sing will attest to the greatness of our Lord. Yes, our praise and worship will speak of the awesomeness of God, of the wonder of Christ, of the mystery of the Spirit.

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world!

Come, let us worship together!
