Dear siblings in the Fifth Avenue UMC,
I hope this email finds you well in this Lenten season.
It is the week filled with celebration at the same time with great tension to Jesus and His disciples! Jesus orchestrates the whole scenario how He would enter Jerusalem, and the whole prophecy about the Messiah will be fulfilled as a King of the universe. We will shout out Hosanna through the worship service.
This worship service will be a little different at the starting point and in liturgy. When you enter the church, you will receive a Palm branch. Please take it to the pew. And when the worship service starts, you will come outside of the sanctuary. The worship will start with a procession with joyful songs, shaking the palms, and making noise of shakers, we will welcome Jesus into Jerusalem and into our hearts! Are we ready for this celebration this weekend?
