Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Last Tuesday, I attended Bishop’s Day Apart at Waukesha First UMC. During the gathering, the Bishop discussed our current circumstances and called us to radically love our neighbors. I would like to share a quotation he referenced:
"Authoritarian movements directly threaten the values we hold dear: the sacred worth of every person, the call to welcome the stranger, the mandate to seek justice, and the vision of beloved community that transcends national boundaries."
This week, we will explore the story of Abraham, the father of our faith. We will reflect on whether faith is initiated by us or by God and consider Abraham’s courageous journey. Through his story, we will witness the power of God’s grace, which will be an encouragement to us all.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
Blessings,
Pastor Hae-Jeong
