Fifth Sunday after Epiphany

by Clarissa Martinelli on February 06, 2022

Good Sunday morning People of God,

Chris Rice lyrics for his song, “Go Light Your World” says:

There is a candle in every soul
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold
There is a Spirit who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His home

Carry your candle, run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world
Take your candle, and go light your world

In this 4-week “CANDLE” sermon series, let us let our “Light Shine” in order to make the world a better place. “I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their
trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.” John 12:46

We will emphasize the importance of bringing your light into your interactions with other people and, through these exchanges, make a difference in their lives. Every interaction with
another person is an opportunity to bring more light into the world. It's also an opportunity to dispel the world's darkness, doubt and despair.

Every time you enter a room, every time you make contact with another — through eyes, through words, through facial and bodily movements — an opportunity presents itself.
What shall you bring into the world during this special time of love and reconciliation with all persons? How do you want others to remember you, to think about you, especially if this turns
out to be your one and only interaction?

Come. If you are going to succeed at bringing more light into the world, you have to invite light first into yourself. Come, all are welcomed!
