Greetings followers of Christ.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been listening to the parables found in Matthew 13. These are parables that read us. How we hear them depends on the condition of our hearts. If we listen well, these stories change us. They teach us about God’s kingdom, and identify us as children of that Kingdom, showing us how to live into that identity.
Listening is a key component to receiving the parables of Jesus. Jesus has not been saying, “those who have eyes, read along.” He says, “everyone who has ears, listen.”
The Kingdom of Heaven starts small, but can become really big, like a mustard seed starts small and then grows into a big plant. If just a little bit of the Kingdom of Heaven is added to something else, it can have a big effect on that other thing, just like a little bit of yeast can make a whole loaf of bread rise up.
We come humbly today with prayers and hope that the Lord, will plant those amazing seeds of transforming love in us; that they may grow into deeds of service to others in Jesus precious name.
Come people of God, let us worship together.
