Dear family and friends of Fifth Avenue UMC,
This weekend is Labor Day weekend. I wish you have a refreshing and good time with your friends and family before summer finishes!
Starting this Sunday, the Prayer Meeting will start at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Even though you are not familiar with the prayer meeting,
and have no experience with it, I encourage you to come and learn verbal but short prayer together. Our voice is a powerful vehicle used by
the Holy Spirit. A couple of new things are introduced in the Bulletin. Also, please check! The Scripture Reading this coming Sunday is from the Exodus story. It is a symbolic expression of our spiritual lives in the world. Wilderness is a place where we cannot find any green life; no food, no water, and no resting place at all. However, God provides, and protects the people of God in all their needs, regardless of their environment. And God cares for us deeply, and above all else, wants us to be like God. Will you join the journey of Israelites this weekend?
Grace and peace,
Rev. Dr. Hae-Jeong Yoon
