Third Sunday after Epiphany

by Clarissa Martinelli on January 23, 2022

Good morning Beloved,

We continue our discernment of Spiritual Gifts. Here is a chance to re-emphasize spiritual gifts, to launch a process whereby members of FAUMC take some time to
discern what gifts are present in the life of our congregation.

Prayerfully you have completed your Spiritual Gift Discovery Assessment. If not, please do so.

After the Holy Spirit has revealed your divine gift(s), the next step is discernment (gain insight): “How can I find ways to use these gifts for the benefit of the whole?”

We have made space for a testimony during worship from someone who has discovered her spiritual gift(s) and how she has been in service to the unity of the body,
or the growth in discipleship, and the building of bridges into the wider community.

May each of you be encouraged as well as be an encouragement to others in the congregation and the Beloved Community; to be in service to the whole in new and transforming ways.

Above all, we ask for God to help us discern how God is at work in and around us as we worship and work. Our prayers are for wisdom and discernment and for the unity of the body.

Come as we gather our Spiritual Gifts, songs of unity and of giftedness to proclaim this power of vision and of hope in the life of the Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church.

Come, Beloved people of God; all are welcomed!

Pastor Clarissa
